I have a first UK edition of On Writing by Stephen King, which is still the best writing guide I’ve ever read, especially the memoir section. I particularly love the story about how, when he sold the paperback rights (ah, those were the days!) to Carrie, he went out looking for a celebratory gift... to buy his wife - and all he could find in their one local store was a hair dryer.

I wonder if it’s too late to enter the Meet Stephen King competition?

My new book, The Darkest Water, is published April 16. Join me as I read from the prologue.

An interview with yours truly in @crimemonthlymagazine this month. Also, there are at least six ideas for future books on the cover alone!

In case you missed my live video yesterday, I’m going to be doing a couple of LIVE READINGS from The Darkest Water this week.

Tuesday 9th 8pm UK/3pm ET
Thursday 11th 8pm UK/3pm ET

The readings will take place here on my Facebook page and will stay on the page afterwards in ...case you have other important things to be getting on with: burying bodies, trying to conceal your darkest secrets, grappling with social media stalkers - that kind of thing.

Meanwhile, I will be gargling honey and practising my best bedtime story voice.

Some information about what to expect in the run-up to publication week, including live readings.

Join me for the live launch of The Darkest Water, here on my Facebook page, at 8pm UK time on Tues 16 April.

We will be delving into the cookie jar to give away prizes, I'll be telling you all about this book and answering your questions, and I'll also reveal some info about ...what's coming next. To win prizes you have to watch live, so click 'going' on the event page to make sure you don't miss out. See you there! https://www.facebook.com/events/1468261097456740

A reminder that I will be appearing live at the Kings Heath Festival in Birmingham on April 20th alongside Jo Callaghan, Rachel McLean and Barbara Copperthwaite. This is the ONLY live event I have planned to promote The Darkest Water and therefore your best opportunity to get a signed copy. ...I'll also be giving away pens, etc. Tickets are just £7.50 and there are still a few left. https://the-heath-bookshop.eventcube.io/events/56765/crime-writers-panel

Want to see what you could win if you watch my live launch party for The Darkest Water on Facebook tomorrow night? That’s 8pm UK/3pm ET April 16 on my Facebook page. Link in bio or search FB for mark edwards author. You have to watch the party live to get your name in the cookie jar. Hope to see you there!
With sincere apologies to the staff at my local post office, I will be giving away all this stuff at the launch party for The Darkesf Water on Tuesday. Signed books, pens and more! It all happens over on my Facebook page and you have to watch live for the chance for your name to be pulled from the cookie jar. Link in bio or look for Mark Edwards Author on Facebook.
Hot off the press: an interview with me in today’s @expressandstar in which I talk about The Darkest Water (out Tuesday!). Also, giving @theheathbookshop’s books and music festival a plug. That happens next weekend and there are a few tickets left.
Live reading from The Darkest Water which is published April 16, as a paperback, ebook and audiobook. Calvin is about to discover the dangers of social media…
Never work with animals! Try not to concentrate on Peggy because I have something to tell you…
Join me Tues 16 April over on my Facebook page for the live launch of The Darkest Water. Prizes! Chat! Q&A! News! Hopefully an appearance from Peggy and Sherlock. Link in bio. It kicks off at 8pm UK time.
Just got home from seeing Immaculate in which @sydney_sweeney literally proved herself to be a great new scream queen. A proper nasty, murky, gory horror film with a shocking ending. People in the cinema were moaning ‘oh God no!’ during the final scene 😁 I also very highly recommend Late Night With the Devil, which is like a modern update of Ghostwatch and is utterly gripping. Anyone seen either of these or any other good horror movies recently?
I love it when my watch tells me stuff I’m actually interested in (yes, The Darkest Water is out April 16th)!
